Zero Tolerance Policy

We have begun to notice more people discussing inappropriate topics on HisReach and since we hold the purity and safety of HisReach to the highest degree, we will be cracking down on any sort of inappropriate discussion.

What is inappropriate discussion considered?

Sexual conversation of any sort.
Blurbs containing questionnaires that have inappropriate or lewd questions. For example (and yes these are actual posts we have seen), responding to questions about being caught naked, showering with the opposite sex, being home alone with the opposite sex, etc. Thankfully most of your answers are no, however, it is inappropriate content matter to even ask within HisReach.
Name-calling. It is not appropriate to call people names, even in jest.
Abbreviations. Using abbreviations for inappropriate terms is no better than using the actual term.
…and the list goes on

If we discover you are posting content of this type you will be either warned or permanently banned from the HisReach community. We must uphold the quality of HisReach and we need your help. We understand that it may seem strict, but God calls us to a higher standard.

Yikes…we are back!

Let me tell you…the last 7 days have been a wreck! We are so sorry for all for all of the downtime and hope that you didn’t think we were gone. It’s been a lot of trouble with our server changes and then miscommunication about payments, etc.

All that said, we are back and should be fully functional. Please let us know if there is anything else you find that isn’t working as you would expect.

Server Changes Completed / Issues Repaired

We have finally completed all of the server changes. It was a real uphill battle, but we have finished it finally. Apparently quite a few of you noticed. We apologize for the issues, but it was necessary to make these server changes for our community.

We have completed the server hardware changes. Things went quite smoothly. There are some lingering issues that we are working to resolve. You will find that some page are up and running, others aren’t totally there yet. We should have this resolved in the next few hours.

HisReach Down Time

I’m sorry to say that there will be some downtime tonight for HisReach as we work on our server configuration and do some hardware adjustments. Downtime will begin at 11PM EST and will hopefully last for only 8 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you wake up to great things tomorrow morning.

New Tooth & Nail Backgrounds

We’ve added 18 new backgrounds for your profiles. They are all for Tooth & Nail bands (which totally rock!). Check them out in your ‘Edit Profile’ section. Bands include Anberlin, Emery, Mae, Number One Gun, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Underoath.

We are going to try to add more profile backgrounds more regularly. Send your suggestions!

Power Outages

As you probably noticed, HisReach was down for some time today. Well… the good news is that it wasn’t our fault. The power went out for the entire city where our server is located and there seems to have been some power backup issues with our server warehouse. Anyways, things seems to be stable for now. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Music Player Fix

For those of you musicians on HisReach that have been experiencing issues with the player not playing your songs after reordering or deleting a track. The issue is fixed and you should be able to go along happily sharing your music with everyone.

Blurb Standards Of Use

Lately there have been some issues with posted content in blurbs. We encourage you all to use blurbs as a way to keep friend updated about changes to your profile, groups, etc. In fact, it’s fine if you want to post content like quizzes and questionnaires. However, we have to ask that you please think first about what you are posting to blurbs before you post them. Blurbs can be seen by all of your friends and at times they can (and have been) found to be offensive.

So what is considered offensive? Well, to list a few:

Name-calling
Use of abbreviations referring to bad words or phrases
Questions that are overly personal in nature

If we find that you are posting or re-posting inappropriate blurbs, we will be forced to close your HisReach account. All we ask is that you think about the content that you put on HisReach before you do it. We are trying to keep HisReach a clean place to hang out online and your cooperation will only make HisReach better.

Music Profiles

I’m sure many of you have noticed, we now have music profiles on HisReach. We are still doing some work to get them perfect, so be patient while we work out all of the kinks. Just a few things to note about music profiles:

You must own the rights to the music in order to post songs to HisReach. If you don’t and we find out, your music profile and member profile will be permanently deleted. In short, No…you can’t post your favorite songs to a music profile…even if you bought the CDs.
If you don’t see your favorite band on HisReach, we need your help. We are working to get the coolest artists on HisReach, but it is an involved process. How can you help? Send an email to the band, leave messages on their MySpace, post on their websites. Tell them that you are on HisReach and you want them to be too. Fans are the top influencers on how bands reach their fans.
If you see something that isn’t working how you might have expected or if something justplain doesn’t work. Please let us know in the Suggestion Box on your home page.
