Today is HisReach’s 1st birthday. Exactly 1 year ago today, we launched the HisReach website with 20 users and a whole lot of panic as all our friends helped us debug issues left and right. Now a year later, we have just over 1700 users and a bunch more features. God has been working in a real way with HisReach this year and we are really excited to see all of your contributions.
What is the past though really? We are looking forward to our 2nd birthday where we hope to have a ton more members and a lot of the feature you have been requesting (yes, we do read them and we are planning on creating them). Keep sending us all your thoughts and suggestions as we continue to work towards God’s vision for HisReach. We hope this next year will be even better than the past and know that through God…it will happen!

So you all know how we are trying to by provide an alternative to MySpace and how we are trying to basically be different in every single way possible? Oh, you didn’t?…yeah, we are :) Well, it feels so counter everything we ever defined as being rational, but HisReach has a MySpace…
Why you ask? Well, we feel like MySpace is unquestionably a great tool for marketing…despite its many downsides. We are trying to get the word out about what we are doing at HisReach and felt like MySpace is the common ground where we can meet the world to spark an interest.
So as always…how can you help?
Firstly, we want to be your MySpace friend (that hurt me to say).
Secondly, use the “Forward To Friend” feature in our Contact Box on MySpace to tell your friends about our new profile.
Thirdly, deck out your MySpace with a HisReach Button.

As you all know by now, we are trying to spread the word about a new way to network on the Internet through HisReach. We owe it all to you for sending out invites, telling friends, and just bringing up HisReach in conversation. Lately, however, we’ve been looking for a way to get a lot of interested eyes towards HisReach without laying all the burden on our members.
Part of our plan is to get the media involved and from that effort came our first newspaper article in the Tri-Valley Herald. The Herald is a news source for the San Francisco East Bay area. HisReach is run from this area, so we thought why not approach our home base first. We got in contact with Zoe Francis of the Herald and had a chance to talk about HisReach and our vision for the site. About a week later, she had an article together and in print.
We are proud to make our first real public appearance and to share this with all of you. Without your help, we wouldn’t have too much to talk about :). You can read the scanned article or see the web version now.

So the concert was amazing Friday night. Thank you to all of you came and a special thanks to those of you that helped the whole thing go off. It was great to get to meet all of you and get to share our vision for HisReach. We hope that you enjoyed as much as we did! Check out the concert pictures!

There has been some interest in how sign-ups did at the concert. We currently have added 36 members to our community which I am very happy about. Keep spreading the word!
So the big day is almost here! HisReach Launch Concert is hitting the Cornerstone Event Center (map) this Friday, Sept 15! It’s a been a while in the coming, but the details are all falling together and let me tell you…It’s going to be an awesome night!! I’m not just saying that…check out the plans!
I mean really now, how could this be better?!? The doors open at 6:45PM and the concert starts at 7. You can come whenever you like, we will be blasting music and having fun until 10PM. Oh, did I mention TOTALLY FREE?!? Invite a friend, remind a friend…it’s going to be sweet!

As you may have noticed there is a support button on your homepage. If God is directing you to support our ministry, please feel free to contribute however you are able. More important than that, however, is how you can help us through promotion. We are really trying to grow HisReach right now and we need your help. Doug and I have already invited everyone and their brother…this is where you come in. You will find buttons to promote HisReach at http://promote.hisreach.com which can be placed on your website, blog, or MySpace. BUT even more cool is the fact that we are having a launch concert coming up on Sept 15 @ 7PM at the Cornerstone Fellowship Event Center in Livermore, CA (map). We totally want you to come and join us…but even more importantly BRING A FRIEND!…or two…or three…or ten. There are two totally sweet things that come from this…oh yes…I plan to share! The first is that your friends will have a chance to hang out amongst the Christian community. If you have a friend that needs Jesus or just refreshing, this is a perfect way to prime their curiosity without being forceful. Invite them to come hang out and see what is going on in the TriValley and listen to some music. The second totally sweet thing is that at the concert we will be having HisReach signups which will help us grow and spread the word about HisReach. That being said, we have a flier that we are handing out, but I have a version that is perfect for putting on your website, blog, or MySpace…and I think you can even post it in a friends message board to let them know what is up…it’s basically all around TOTALLY sweet. Check this out! We are so extremely excited to announce that HisReach is holding a TOTALLY FREE launch concert as a celebration of our progress. The concert will feature: Cameron Jaymes, Justin Brier, Katie Dirks and Kevin Carey! The concert will be held at the Cornerstone Fellowship Event Center (map) in Livermore, CA on Sept. 15th from 7-10PM. We figured it would be awesome to get together with all of you HisReachers and praise the Lord for how He has provided for HisReach and be in prayer for the future of our community. We want you to come and meet Doug and I, enjoy an INCREDIBLE night of worship, and see what is going on in the SF Bay Area for Christians your age. All ages are welcome, so invite everyone! We know there are people from all over the US on HisReach…but nobody ever said a roadtrip isn’t fun…we would love to see you! We hope to see you all there…God Bless!
We’re happy to announce that HisReach is now 500 members strong. We want to thank everyone that’s been staying active on the site and inviting their friends. When we hit 100 members on May 24th we set our next milestone of 500 members. In about two and half months we’ve reached our milestone. We’re happy to see that there is such interest in the site because it makes the time and effort worthwhile. We currently have over 500 invites sent out with people not signed up yet. Keep reminding your friends.
Since the site has its roots in California it’s only natural that the most members would be from California (about 80%). However, HisReach currently has members scattered throughout 32 of the 50 states. We love to see this since we only know a handful of people outside of California. We ask that you get friends in other states involved in order to get HisReach growing in their communities.
We want to thank you for telling us when things aren’t working and letting us know what features you want to see. These suggestions play a great part in what comes next. Many people were asking for a picture album so we set that as a priority. New features are in the works right now and will be up as soon as they’re completed and ready.
